New Zealand Superyacht update for America’s Cup

As reported, the proposed ‘Anchoring fee’ has been abandoned after the local marine industry strongly opposed fee. Mark Illingworth of Seal Superyachts New Zealand said, “it was great to see local industry band together, present a case and for NZ Marine to action our concerns so effectively”. The overhauled system now states that visiting yachts exceeding 40 meters will pay a single fee covering the year of NZ$20 (US$13) per meter, plus value-added tax.

Auckland’s all-new America’s Cup village under development is set to rejuvenate the waterfront.

The programme for the event in New Zealand has also become more clear with dates and berthage rates being finalised this week.
